Michael Feathers has woken from a horrible dream. Only upon waking, he learns it was not a dream after all. He finds himself at the Fair Pines Hospital in Washington State for observation, and under arrest for murder. The worst part, he can vividly remember each part of the murder, all the way up to the shooting of a beautiful woman. He is told he has suffered an Acquired Brain Injury and has been in a coma for nearly ten months. But when he asks about his wife, he is told he has been divorced for years. While he cannot picture her face, he knows the doctors are wrong. Michael must search the farthest reaches of his own memory to discover what really is true. Who was the woman he killed? Did he actually kill anyone? Where is his wife? Learning the truth could cost him his life, but has he already lost it anyway?
